Calling all tired Mamas!
Being a first-time mom is hard. There’s no manual specifically tailored to your baby. It’s up to you to figure out the difference in cries, when to feed, how much to feed, the best way to get them to sleep, what they like and don’t like. The list goes on and on. Eventually, we figure it out and become experts on our little bundles of joy.
Even though learning all about our babies is exhausting work, I think the most challenging is being a working mom. If you’re anything like me, you may be finding yourself in a pickle when it comes to the cost of daycare. For me, the struggle lies with the expense of daycare and lack of daycare options in conjunction with actually wanting to be a stay at home mom. Paying nearly 80% of my salary to have someone else raise my child is not what I had in mind. However, that other 20% is necessary to contribute to other living expenses. It’s a catch 22 situation, one in which I’m struggling to deal with.
If you’re experiencing the same dilemma, welcome.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve found that talking about the stressors that come along with mother-hood with other mothers helps me deal with them. If you’ve been in my situation and have figured out how to be a stay-at-home mom without going bankrupt, please share your stories.
