Has this winter been rough for you? This winter has kicked our butts with illnesses. So much so, that school has closed for the rest of the week. Miss Ryleigh has avoided the big “bugs” going around (influenza, RSV, and stomach bugs), thank goodness! However, she’s come down with her fifth cold since starting daycare (in October). I suppose then it’s a blessing in disguise that I’m off work and able to keep her home.
Today I’m sharing some of my go-to items for when she’s got what seems like an endless supply of snot.
I’ve found the proper term for this is ‘nasal aspirator’ but let’s call it what it really is, snot sucker. This snot sucker is my preferred one. I’ve tried a variety of ones and this is by far the best one. I have used the Frida brand and an electric one, however, this one just works best. It fits best in even the tiniest nostrils, can be converted into a regular squeeze bulb, and is easy to take apart and clean.
When sucking Ryleigh’s nose or anytime she seems stuffy, I always use saline drops. There are two options I’ve used. Both work well, however, my preference is the bottle that allows you to use it as drops instead of just a spray. Ryleigh is very wiggly as she hates the process, so a spray does not work for us. If your little one doesn’t mind having their nose messed with, the mist may be better.
